Day 43: Wawa - Wadi Halfa

Seeing that the team decided to drag their mattresses out into the open, the night was actually quite bearable and after an early morning breakfast the Boyz were on their bikes and off down the road, eager to get the rest of the sand road behind them. With little over 280 kilometers to go to Wadi Halfa, the team was in very high spirits and actually starting to enjoy the off-road riding. The first hundred or so kilometers saw the team hopping on and off the tar every few kilometers to avoid the bridge constructions and after a short coffee break in the middle of nowhere, we started making real progress. With the off-road sections becoming shorter and shorter, the team found themselves flying through a landscape that mimicked the Namibian desert and only stopping to take a few photos, we were soon driving down the main street into Wadi Halfa. Seeing that Wadi Halfa is Moyis's hometown we were quickly shown to a little coffee stall and after warming our palates, it was off for lunch. Informed that the hotels were in no condition to stay in, Moyis instructed us that we should stay at his brother's place and after being handed over to Mazar, Moyis's younger brother, we found ourselves with a whole lot of time and nothing much to do. Hopefully we will find something to do, as the ferry that will take us into Egypt only arrives in two days time.

Where are the photos.
Ihave really enjoyed this well documented adventure through parts of Africa I have hardly heard of. The photos make it even more interesting. Well done to all the boys. You have really done well and you are almost there. Enjoy and take care.

Last lap
Wishing you well on this last lap Boyz! Then the withdrawal simptoms of not getting onto bikes anymore. I am sure that you have built up a healthy tan. Well done on a safe trip. True professionals.
