Today was a well deserved rest day; however most of it was spent wait for the ‘lightning speed’ service of the hotel. Grant managed to fix his bike with the help from Les, having to bleed and replace the coolant. Paul and Craig spent the time fixing various intercom snags and oiling the chains. Just before lunch Mark and Grant went for a drive towards our first stopping point tomorrow to test if they had found and fixed the heating problem. 6 kilometres down the road the tar ended and they ended up testing their off road riding skills a little early. Grant’s turned out to be a little rusty and he took a plunge into the soft beach sand. Happy that they had fixed the problem and getting tired from playing in the sand Mark and Grant turned round and headed back for lunch. Lunch started at two and with the previously mentioned speedy service eventually got underway at about 4 pm, where Les was surprised by a large Birthday cake. For dinner we were off to Cos du sol for fresh seafood!

I am so pleased that you are all happily on your way and that the sand won't prove too much of a problem.. Your journey up the East Coast of Africa has "eaten up" quite a few miles and hopefully, the red "snake" on the map, will continue incident . .more
